If you are just starting out playing HUSNG's having a basic framework of what hands ranges you should be opening is obviously an important part of your overall game plan. The following ranges outlined in this article are by no means the ultimate guide to opening hand ranges in HUSNG matches but rather a place to start building a solid overall strategy for consistently beating these games online. A lot of people advocate opening 100% of hands on the button.
This is probably more related to HU Cash and then is only effective in deep stacked games. In HUSNG's opening 100% of hands on the button is not a good strategy most of the time.
When you begin the match I would advise to initially start out opening about 70-80% of the small blind(ie : the button). From there you can adjust accordingly depending on how your opponent reacts. Below is a chart of what a standard 70% hand range looks like according to Pokerstove.

When you are out of position I cannot stress enough the importance of calling with and extremely tight range. Position is power in poker and you do not want to be flat calling out of postition in a Heads Up match with any sort of marginal holding. Initially I would suggest a flat calling range in the big blind of no more than 25% of hands. A standard 25% opening range looks something like the chart below(highlighted in yellow).

The other thing that you need to consider is what hands you are going to 3 bet with. Again ,this needs to be extremely tight against most opponents that you initially have no reads on.
My suggested 3-betting range would look something like the following.
99, TT, JJ, QQ, KK, AA, AJo+
From there you can adjust, re-adjust, etc, etc, depending upon your opponents tendencies and that my friends is when poker starts to become really interesting.
